It’s been a while since the last time I featured a pinoy blog here, and I’m hoping anyone misses it already (lol). Anyways, the blog and the blogger that I will be featuring in this post is somewhat very different, in the way I see it, there are very few of them here in the blogosphere, which makes it very special for me in composing this post. And because it is special, I want it to be different from all the past reviews that I have made. In this feature, I will be looking in a different perspective. During my previous reviews, I have focused on the bloggers’ blogs, but here it will be more on the blog’s blogger. So here it is.
The Blog and The Blogger
Our featured blogger is no extraordinary blogger in a sense that he’s not a student, nor a professional rambling about anything here in the blogosphere. And in fact, he’s the least person that I think would be entering the blogosphere. He is Fr. Stephen Cuyos, and yes, he’s a priest. Cool huh? But I haven’t started yet, let me share with you my discoveries about this priest blogger/podcaster.
During my initial stage of blogging, I guess it was a few months ago, 2-3 to be exact, I was endlessly browsing the pinoy blogosphere when I accidentally passed by in a blog that has a very cool prayer published in it which really fits in the blogging community. That prayer really got my attention and eventually stocked into my head. Unfortunately, I wasn’t much into bookmarking webpages before that’s why I lost track of that blog.
A few weeks ago, as I was thinking and searching for a blog that I will feature here, I remembered that same cool prayer, so I made a few search about the words that stock into my head “Happy Faith” and eventually landed on that same spot. So, yes, now I’m certain that the blog is StephenCuyos.com. What makes this blog special for me amongst the thousand of blogs in cyberspace is that this one is actually owned by a priest. As I have said earlier, priests, aside from the nuns, are the persons whom I least expect to blog, well, I was proven wrong again. Fr. Stephen is a techie priest, a blog and podcast lover, and an opensource, mac and linux fanatic.
Fr. Stephen, a member of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart, uses his blog, Happy Faith, to share his personal reflections and the teachings of the Catholic religion. Aside from talking about life and faith, his blog also cover topics relating to linux, opensource, Filipino migrants, and mediated communications like the worldwideweb, photography and film. Fr. Stephen has been blogging even before that term (blogging) has been created. He do podcasting too. Cuying Podcast is really worth listening to, lots of inspirational messages, poems, stories, interviews, and many more.
If you’re looking for a priest that rocks, I highly recommend visiting Fr. Stephen at his blog Happy Faith and his Cuying Podcast to enjoy the wonderful experience this amazing Catholic Priest offers.
